MotoGP Hungary, Free Practice One Results | Marc Marquez led the way on Friday morning

Marc Marquez topped the first MotoGP Practice session at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix at the new Balaton Park Circuit.

In the opening MotoGP Free Practice session at the new Balaton Park, Marc Marquez topped the timesheets by 0.277 seconds for the factory Ducati squad.

Pol Espargaro is the only rider on the grid to have prior experience on a MotoGP machine at the new circuit and ended the morning in second place for Red Bull KTM Tech3.

Continuing his strong run of form was the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider of Pedro Acosta, who started the day in third place.

Luca Marini was the only rider from a Japanese manufacturer to feature inside the top ten as he finished in fourth for the Honda HRC Castrol squad.

Rounding out the top five was the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider of Alex Marquez, who was 0.727 seconds behind his older brother.

Marco Bezzecchi was the top Aprilia rider in Free Practice One as he ended the morning session in sixth place on the factory RS-GP.

Franco Morbidelli featured inside the top ten on the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team Ducati as he started his weekend in seventh place.

The third KTM rider to feature inside the top ten was the Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider of Enea Bastianini, who was in eighth place at the end of the first session.

Fermin Aldeguer was the fourth Ducati rider to finish Free Practice One in the top ten as he ended up in ninth place on the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP machine.

Completing the top ten was the reigning MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Martin, on the factory Aprilia RS-GP.
