Maverick Vinales and Red Bull KTM Tech3 were on top of the timesheets at Mugello at the end of Day One.
In Ducati's backyard, it was KTM that took top spot in the final Practice session of the opening day at Mugello. Maverick Vinales set the pace as he went 0.110 seconds quicker than the field.
The Ducati Lenovo Team were in second and third place at the Mugello Circuit, Francesco Bagnaia was in second place, with Marc Marquez in third place.
Alex Marquez and the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP squad ended the day inside the top five as they ended the day in fourth place.
Despite riding with an injury due to a crash in the session, Fabio Quartararo was able to make his way into Q2 as he ended the day in fifth.
Marco Bezzecchi was the only Aprilia rider to secure his way into Q2 on Saturday as the Italian ended Friday in sixth place.
The second Yamaha rider to get direct access to Q2 on Friday afternoon was Alex Rins, who ended Practice in seventh.
Pedro Acosta was the second KTM rider to make his way into Q2 as he ended the day in eighth on the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machine.
Completing the top ten were the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team riders. Franco Morbidelli ended the session in ninth, and Fabio di Giannantonio was directly behind his teammate in tenth.
