Francesco Bagnaia was back on the top step of the podium after he dominated the Sprint Race at the Japanese Grand Prix.
For the first time since the 2024 Solidarity Grand Prix, Francesco Bagnaia featured on the top step of a Sprint Race podium after he controlled the Sprint Race at the Twin Ring Motegi.
Marc Marquez was unable to match his teammate for the first time this season, and had to settle for second place on Saturday, but his Championship chances have improved for Sunday.
Pedro Acosta featured on a Sprint Race podium for the third time this season with a third-place finish on Saturday at the Japanese Grand Prix.
For the first time this season, Joan Mir featured inside the top five as he claimed a fourth-place finish in the Sprint Race at the Twin Ring Motegi.
Rounding out the top five was the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider, Franco Morbidelli, who ended the Sprint Race 5.130 seconds behind Bagnaia.
Outside of the top five was the top Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo, who crossed the line in sixth place but was 8.913 seconds behind Bagnaia.
The second Honda rider inside the points on Saturday was the Honda HRC Castrol rider, Luca Marini, who ended the day in seventh place.
Trackhouse Racing had a positive Saturday at the Twin Ring Motegi as Raul Fernandez was in eighth place, and Ai Ogura scored a point at his home circuit with a ninth-place finish.
