Fermin Aldeguer made his MotoGP debut in the Barcelona Test on the Gresini Racing Ducati.
Despite injury worries, Fermin Aldeguer did make his MotoGP debut at the Barcelona Test on Tuesday (19/11/2024). The Spaniard has moved up from Moto2 to the premier class for the 2025 season with Gresini Racing MotoGP.
Aldeguer spent three full years in Moto2 with SpeedUp Racing on his way to MotoGP and won eight races in the class.
The 19-year-old Spaniard completed 58 laps on the Ducati GP24 on Tuesday and ended the test in 20th. Aldeguer was the top rookie at the end of the one-day test as he finished above Ai Ogura and Somkiat Chantra.
However, early on in the test, Aldeguer had his first crash as a MotoGP rider as he crashed at the treacherous turn five. But he believes the crash was helpful as it helped him find the limit.
"Today was an incredible day for me," Aldeguer told MotoGP.com. "Because it was my first time on a MotoGP bike and now I feel like a MotoGP rider.
"The start was crazy, the acceleration, the brakes, the devices, all of it was different. Everything is a step, or two, or three, more than Moto2.
"For me, the most impressive part was the brakes. You can brake so late and you don't know where the limit is, I did crash so now I know where the limit is. But I am happy because I adapted to everything fast."
