Marc Marquez has explained how Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin will be feeling ahead of the final three rounds of the 2024 season.
Last weekend Marc Marquez won the Australian Grand Prix after beating both title contenders. However, on Thursday ahead of the Thai Grand Prix Marquez spoke from experience on how it feels to fight for a title.
With only three rounds left of the 2024 MotoGP season, Jorge Martin leads Francesco Bagnaia by 20 points. Marquez has stated that neither rider will be 'enjoying' the experience, but that they will be 'suffering'.
"It is not an easy situation for both of them," Marquez explained. "A long time ago I remember what you can feel when you are in that position. You are not enjoying it, you are just suffering. Because in three races you will know if you are World Champion or not.
"Apart from that they are in good shape, they are super fast. Of course, Martin has his small advantage and Pecco may need to take more risks to recover. But Pecco already knows how to win a Championship, he is a two time World Champion, but Martin has a good opportunity. So, let's see."
Marquez took five points off of Martin in Australia after beating him in a duel at Phillip Island. The Gresini rider is seen as one who could have an influence on the outcome of the championship. But Marquez insists that he has not had any conversations with Ducati regarding team orders.
