Alvaro Bautista topped his first World Superbike session of the 2025 season.
The third round of the World Superbike Championship is underway, and Alvaro Bautista topped the opening Practice session. The Spaniard was fastest throughout 3/4 of the Assen circuit and ended the morning 0.102 seconds faster than the other riders.
After winning all three races at Portimao, Toprak Razgatlioglu is targeting another triple at Assen. The Turkish rider ended the opening Practice session in second place but was sandwiched between Ducati riders.
Nicolo Bulega was not able to match his teammate or title rival's pace in Free Practice One. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati rider ended Free Practice One in third place.
After years of experience at the TT Circuit Assen, Andrea Iannone is always expected to do well at the Dutch circuit. The Team Pata GoEleven rider started his weekend positively, with fourth place in the opening session.
The top Yamaha rider was Dominique Aegerter with the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team. The Swiss rider was in fifth place on the Yamaha R1 at the Dutch circuit.
Home hero, Michael van der Mark, wants to return to the podium at his home circuit. The ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team rider ended the morning in sixth.
Yamaha was in seventh and eighth place with Andrea Locatelli in seventh place and Remy Gardner in eighth.
Danilo Petrucci was the final Ducati rider inside the top ten as he ended the session in ninth place.
Completing the top ten was the top bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team rider. Alex Lowes was back on form on Friday morning after a difficult weekend at Portimao last time out.
There were four British riders outside of the top ten in Free Practice One. Sam Lowes was in 10th, Scott Redding was in 14th, Tarran Mackenzie finished in 16th, and Ryan Vickers was in 18th.
