Dutch WorldSBK, Free Practice Two | Nicolo Bulega ends Friday fastest at Assen

Nicolo Bulega ended Friday on top of the timesheets at the TT Circuit Assen.

After his teammate topped Free Practice One, Nicolo Bulega bounced back on Friday afternoon. The Italian rider ended Free Practice Two on top of the timesheets at the TT Circuit Assen.

Axel Bassani made it an Italian 1-2 on Friday afternoon as he ended the day in second place on the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team's KB998 Rimini.

The reigning World Superbike Champion, Toprak Razgatlioglu, was in second place this morning, but in the afternoon, he had to settle for third place on the BMW M1000RR.

The top Yamaha rider on Friday afternoon was Andrea Locatelli. The Italian ended the day in fourth place for the Pata Maxus Yamaha Team.

Alvaro Bautista could not keep his momentum rolling after ending Free Practice One on top. The Spaniard slipped back the order to fifth place in Free Practice Two.

British rider Sam Lowes has a vast amount of experience at Assen and was right at the sharp end on Day One. The ELF Marc VDS Racing Team rider ended the day in sixth place as the top independent Ducati rider.

Seventh and eighth place were taken by Ducati as Andrea Iannone ended the day in seventh with Danilo Petrucci in eighth.

Michael van der Mark ended the opening day at his home round in ninth place on the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK machine.

Rounding out the top ten was MGM Bonovo rider Scott Redding. The British rider was 0.830 seconds behind Bulega's best lap time.

There were three British riders outside of the top ten in Free Practice Two. Alex Lowes was in 14th, Tarran Mackenzie was 16th, and Ryan Vickers ended the day in 22nd after a crash in the early stages of Free Practice Two.
