Emilia-Romagna WorldSBK, Race One Results | Toprak Razgatlioglu beat Ducati at their home circuit

Gold & Goose

Toprak Razgatlioglu returned to winning ways as he beat Ducati in their own backyard in the opening race of the weekend.

For the seventh time this season, Toprak Razgatlioglu claimed victory as he beat Nicolo Bulega in Race One at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The Turkish rider has cut the Italian rider's Championship lead down to 26 points.

After starting from fourth position due to a grid penalty, Bulega was only able to finish in second place. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati rider could not match the BMW rider's pace in the latter laps.

A further 15.639 seconds behind Bulega was Danilo Petrucci on the Barni Spark Racing Ducati. This third place marks Petrucci's sixth podium of the year and his fourth in a row.

Just missing out on the podium was Alex Lowes on the KB998 Rimini. At the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team's home race, the British rider claimed fourth.

The top Yamaha rider on Saturday afternoon was Andrea Locatelli, as he finished in fifth on the Pata Maxus Yamaha.

Alvaro Bautista crossed the line in seventh, but due to a three-second penalty for Sam Lowes, the Spaniard has been promoted to sixth place in the final results.

Lowes' consistent run of top ten finishes continues as he finished the opening race of the weekend in seventh despite being given a three-second penalty.

World Superbike rookie, Yari Montella, equalled his best result of the season as he finished in eighth place on the Barni Spark Racing Ducati.

Iker Lecuona was the top Honda rider in the opening race of the weekend as he finished in ninth on the CBR1000RR-R.

Scott Redding made his return to the top ten for the first time since the opening race at Cremona. The MGM Bonovo Ducati rider ended the opening race at Misano in tenth.

There were three British riders outside of the top ten; Jonathan Rea and Ryan Vickers scored points in 12th and 13th, whereas Tarran Mackenzie missed out on points as he finished in 16th.
