Toprak Razgatlioglu led the way in the first World Superbike session at the Circuito Estoril on Friday morning.
The current World Superbike Championship leader, Toprak Razgatlioglu, can win the title at Estoril and started his weekend in the perfect way as he topped the timesheets in Free Practice One.
Nicolo Bulega sits second in the Championship and ended Free Practice One in second place. The Italian was 0.226 seconds behind Razgatlioglu, and has work to do in the afternoon to match his rival.
British rider Alex Lowes had a positive start to his weekend at the Circuito Estoril as he was in third place for the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team.
Andrea Iannone was back inside the top five at MotorLand Aragon and was inside the top five in Free Practice One at Estoril, as he was in fourth for Team Pata GoEleven.
The second bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team rider, Axel Bassani, joined his teammate in the top five as he was in fifth place in Free Practice One.
Xavi Vierge was the top Honda rider in the opening World Superbike session of the weekend, and he was in sixth place for the factory Honda squad.
The Pata Maxus Yamaha squad ended the morning session inside the top ten. It was Andrea Locatelli who led the team in seventh place, and his British teammate, Jonathan Rea, was in eighth place.
Danilo Petrucci is riding wounded at the Estoril World Superbike Round, but the Italian rider had a strong start to his weekend as he was in ninth place in Free Practice One.
Completing the top ten was the two-time World Superbike Champion, Alvaro Bautista.
British riders Sam Lowes, Ryan Vickers, and Tarran Mackenzie all missed out on the top ten as the Ducati riders were in 13th, 17th, and 20th places in Free Practice One.
