Michael Ruben Rinaldi starts Saturday on top in a strange Practice session.
The World Superbike Practice sessions were dominated by BMW on Friday. However, on Saturday morning the Magny-Cours circuit was damp after rainfall, meaning the lap times were nowhere Fridays times.
It was Michael Ruben Rinaldi who ended up topping the opening session of the day. The Italian has been lost all year in the Motocorsa Racing Team and needs a good end to 2024.
In second place was fellow Ducati rider, Danilo Petrucci. The Italian is known as a wet weather rider and is still hunting for his first WorldSBK win.
The top Yamaha was Remy Gardner in third place. The Australian was outside the top ten in the dry and a damp morning session did him not good.
In fourth place was Nicolo Bulega on the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati. Friday was a good day for the rookie as he was comfortably inside the top three.
Alessandro Delbianco, who is replacing the injured Dominique Aegerter, ended FP3 in fifth place. The Italian is also known as a wet weather rider so will be hoping for rain.
In sixth place was the Portuguese rider Ivo Lopes, who is replacing the injured Adam Norrodin.
The final rider who set a lap time was Garrett Gerloff in seventh place on the BMW.
