Nicolo Bulega is a World Superbike race winner once again as he beat Alex Lowes in a duel around Magny-Cours.
On Saturday it was Michael van der Mark who won the opening race of the weekend in treacherous conditions. However, the Superpole Race was bone dry for the World Superbike riders.
For the second time in his rookie World Superbike season, Nicolo Bulega is a race winner. The Italian was in control for the whole race on his Ducati Panigale V4 R. With Toprak Razgatlioglu out of the race claiming the maximum points is crucial for Bulega's potential Championship challenge.
In second place was Alex Lowes. The experienced Superbike rider pressured the young rookie ahead of him throughout the race. However, the Kawasaki rider had to settle for second.
For the second time this weekend, Danilo Petrucci finishes in third place. The Italian was in third place in the wet and the dry, the #9 has continued his form from Portimao to Magny-Cours.
Just off of the podium was Scott Redding. The BMW has been working well around Magny-Cours and Redding has been utilising it this weekend as he finished fifth on Saturday and fourth on Sunday morning.
The surprise result of the Superpole Race was that Honda had two riders in the top ten in the dry. Xavi Vierge finished in fifth place and was challenging for a podium, and Iker Lecuona finished in seventh.
American rider, Garrett Gerloff, was the second BMW inside the points as he ended up finishing in sixth. The ROKiT BMW rider of Michael van der Mark was down in eighth place.
Completing the points-scoring positions was Remy Gardner. The Australian had a terrible time in the wet on Saturday as he crashed twice, but he scored a point on Sunday morning.
