Toprak Razgatlioglu secures pole position on his hunt for 13 straight World Superbike race wins.
Danilo Petrucci topped both Free Practice Two and Free Practice Three earlier in the weekend and came into Superpole as the man to beat. But Toprak Razgatlioglu is eyeing up records of his own, so is on a mission on his BMW.
With new records in reach for Razgatlioglu the Turkish rider set a breathtaking pace in Superpole. The Turkish rider is on track for 13 race wins in a row and has given himself the best chance by putting his BMW on pole.
Kawasaki had a slow start to the weekend, but it seems to have turned around in Qualifying. Alex Lowes took his Kawasaki to second place on the grid. The top Ducati was Petrucci who will start from third place at the end of the front row.
Nicolo Bulega has had a tough weekend after missing Free Practice One, but he is clearly up to speed. The Italian rookie is the second Ducati on the grid as he will start from fourth place.
BMW have managed to get two riders in the top five with Michael van der Mark managing to qualify in fifth place at Portimao. Completing the second row is the two-time Champion, Alvaro Bautista, the Spaniard has struggled in Superpole this season so a sixth-place start is good for Bautista.
Yamaha does not feature on the starting grid until seventh and eighth place. Both the Pata Yamaha riders will head the third row with Andrea Locatelli in seventh and Jonathan Rea in eighth.
The third BMW in the top ten is the American, Garrett Gerloff. With a new contract in his back pocket for 2025 Gerloff has found pace and will start from ninth.
Completing the top ten is Dominique Aegerter on the GYTR GRT Yamaha. The Swiss rider does not currently have a ride for 2025 so he needs strong results to help get a ride.
The remaining British riders of Scott Redding and Bradley Ray will start from 16th and 18th places on the grid.
