Portimao WorldSSP, Race Two Results | Montella does the double at Portimao, as Huertas finishes in 12th

Yari Montella wins yet again to close down Adrian Huertas' Championship lead as he finishes in 12th place.

In the opening race of the weekend on Saturday it was Yari Montella who took the race win at Portimao ahead of Adrian Huertas.

Yet again it was Montella who took victory in the second and final Supersport race of the weekend. The Italian does the double weekend and his Championship challenge is well and truly back on.

It was an Italian 1-2 in Race Two, Stefano Manzi capitalised on crashes ahead of him and put his Yamaha on the podium. Behind Manzi was Yamaha rider, Valentin Debise, this was the French rider's second podium of the season.

The top MV Agusta in Race Two was the Italian rider, Federico Caricasulo. However, Caricasulo is still chasing his first podium this season with MV Agusta.

Yamaha riders Lucas Mahias and Glenn van Straalen duelled it out for fifth place in Race Two. In the end, the French rider of Mahias took fifth and van Straalen finished in sixth place.

Can Oncu claimed a strong result for the Puccetti Kawasaki Racing Team as he put his Kawasaki into seventh place. Marcel Schroetter's poor run continues as he received a penalty in Race Two and dropped back to eighth place.

Rounding out the top ten were two Triumphs and two British riders. John McPhee scythed his way through the field and ended up finishing in ninth place. Behind the Scotsman was fellow Brit Tom Booth-Amos claiming another top-ten finish this season.
