Nicolo Bulega kept his World Superbike title hopes alive as he set a blistering pace in the Superpole session at Jerez.
For the fifth time this season, Nicolo Bulega claimed pole position in the World Superbike Superpole session on Saturday morning as he obliterated the field at Jerez.
Toprak Razgatlioglu will start alongside his title rival from second place on the grid, but was 0.524 seconds behind Bulega in the Superpole session.
Despite riding whilst injured, Sam Lowes was able to qualify on the front row for the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team. However, after being evaluated after the session he was declared unfit for the remainder of the weekend.
British rider Alex Lowes will be promoted to the front row of the grid for the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team. He qualified in fourth place on the KB998 Rimini but will start from third place.
The third Ducati rider inside the top five in the Superpole session was the Team Pata GoEleven Ducati rider, Andrea Iannone, who will start from fourth place, after Sam Lowes was declared unfit.
Remy Garder will start from the middle of the second row of the grid and was the fastest Yamaha rider in the Superpole session, and will start from fifth for the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team.
In his final Superpole session as a full-time World Superbike rider, Jonathan Rea qualified at the head of the third row in seventh place for the Pata Maxus Yamaha squad, but will now start from sixth place.
Two-time World Superbike Champion, Alvaro Bautista, will now start from the head of the third row in seventh place.
Xavi Vierge will start from eighth place on the grid in his final weekend as a Honda HRC World Superbike rider.
Completing the third row was the third Yamaha rider inside the top ten, Andrea Locatelli. The Italian will head the fourth row of the grid from tenth place.
British rider Tarran Mackenzie has been promoted into the top ten on the grid and will start from the head of the fourth row.
