Bradley Ray's British Superbike Championship hopes are still alive with two podiums at the penultimate round of the season.
After making a mistake with his tyre choice on Saturday at Oulton Park, Bradley Ray was able to bounce back on Sunday in the dry conditions.
The 2022 British Superbike Champion struggled to a disappointing ninth place in Race One, whilst his title rival, Kyle Ryde, finished third. However, on Sunday, he was able to claim victory in Race Two and then went on to finish second in Race Three.
In the final race of the weekend, Ray had settled for third place until Leon Haslam made a mistake at the last corner, and he was able to swoop through and snatch second place.
"It was a tricky race, I tried to get off at the front, and set a good rhythm," Ray told British Superbikes after Race Three.
"But, Kyle’s plan was always to try to get past me and try to slow it up. At that point, I backed off a bit to set a steady rhythm, 18 laps around here, trying to keep the temperature in the tyres, with this track temperature is quite difficult.
"There were quite a lot of passes, Leon [Haslam] was leading, I went back, and then Scott [Redding] came through. Then Scott set a good rhythm towards the end that was quite strong. Storm [Stacey] came past me towards the end, but I knew I had to get straight back past him to get close to these boys on the last lap.
"It was unfortunate for Leon in that last corner, but he gave me a second place, because third was all I had at the end. But I am super happy to be back on the podium and claw some points back in the Championship. Not enough, but the feeling is there, and it is good going into Brands."
In two weeks, Ray will head to his home circuit of Brands Hatch for the season finale and has the chance to claim his second British Superbike title.
The 28-year-old sits second in the 2025 British Superbike Championship and is 30 points behind the Championship leader.
"It is still all to play for; this weekend has been really important for us," he stated.
"I have been strong in the dry and the wet, so that is obviously a positive. You never know what can happen at Brands in October. We will come out swinging and do our best to do the job that we need to do."
