Spanish team extends partnership with Chinese manufacturer amid MotoGP rumours

Gold and Goose

CFMoto and the Aspar Team have announced an extension of their partnership into the next decade.

The Chinese manufacturer first partnered with the Valencia-based Aspar Team in 2024, a year which saw them crowned Moto3 World Champions with David Alonso and win Moto2 races with Jake Dixon.

In 2025, Alonso and Dani Holgado did the intermediate class winning, Holgado winning twice and Alonso once in their rookie Moto2 seasons with the former also taking the rookie of the year title. In Moto3, Alonso was replaced by Max Quiles, who won the rookie of the year title in the lightweight class despite missing four races at the start of the season through injury and age restrictions.

The success of the CFMoto-Aspar partnership makes it an obvious one to continue, but it also comes at a time where CFMoto is looking to take on larger racing projects, with a WorldSBK team anticipated for as early as 2027 and the possibility of a MotoGP project coming in the future as well.

For now, though, the CFMoto-Aspar partnership is focused on the junior classes and developing young talent, and the new extension of the agreement between the two parties will keep the partnership intact until 2031.

“After two years of working together, we have built a relationship in which we feel as a family,” said Su Zhen, CFMoto Racing Development Manager.

“We have pushed in the same direction, both in the World Championship and outside of competition, with different projects such as training young Chinese riders and developing new bikes.

“This partnership has been a great success to date for CFMoto and the Aspar Team: I'm eager to see what the future holds for us.”

Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’, CEO of the Aspar Team, added: “After these first two seasons with CFMoto, we are looking forward to continuing working together on all the projects we have in common.

“We are very proud to have been able to give them their first World Championship victory, their first title.

“Last year we managed to win races with three of our riders and secured both rookie titles, and in 2026 I am sure that many more good moments await us. It is only the beginning of a great story together.”
