Results from Race 1 at the May 2026 Oulton Park BSB round, the opening race of the 2026 season.

Kyle Ryde opened his BSB title defence with a win in Race 1 at Oulton Park. He made a poor start from pole position, dropping to fourth, but he was leading by the first turn of lap four and quickly set about imposing his pace.

The Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati rider eventually pulled away by over five seconds from the riders behind, winning in comfortable fashion in the end.

Leon Haslam made a strong start to his season in second place, beating Bradley Ray after the two traded places several times during the race. Ray took third, just ahead of Storm Stacey.

Scott Redding was a fourth Ducati in the top-five, passing Max Cook for fifth on the final lap, the Bimota rider demoted to sixth.

Rory Skinner was a further six seconds back in seventh, then Ryan Vickers, Christian Iddon, and Joe Talbot completed the top-10, 10th being a personal best result for Talbot in his full-time debut in the class.

Qualifying

Kyle Ryde took pole position for Race 1 at Oulton Park in patchy conditions during qualifying.

Despite the conditions, Ryde was only 0.002 seconds away from a 1:32s lap time, and a tenth ahead of Bradley Ray in second. Leon Haslam completed the front row with his last timed lap.

Max Cook was the rider to miss out on the front row after Haslam's late improvement and will start fourth alongside Storm Stacey and Scott Redding on row two.

Joe Talbot was seventh in his first qualfying as a full-time BSB rider, alongside Rory Skinner and Ryan Vickers on row three. Lee Jackson completed the qualifying top-10, and will be joined by Jason O'Halloran and Christian Iddon on row four.
