Glenn Irwin ends Free Practice One on top of the timesheets at a drying Donington Park.
After only completing seven laps Glenn Irwin ended Free Practice One on top of the timesheets. The Hager PBM Ducati rider closed the gap in the Championship at Oulton Park and is now in the title battle for the last two rounds of the season.
In second place was the second place man in the Championship, Kyle Ryde. The OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider is six points behind the Championship leader with six races to go.
BMW ended up in third and fourth place in Free Practice One at Donington Park. Josh Brookes set a fast lap time at the end of the session to go third with Leon Haslam finishing in fourth.
LKQ Euro Car Parts Kawasaki rider, Storm Stacey, ended the opening session of the weekend in fifth place. The wet conditions at Donington Park were typical Stacey conditions on Friday morning.
Christian Iddon only completed seven laps in Free Practice One but ended the session in sixth place. The Oxford Products Racing Ducati rider has slipped back in the Championship but can still get a top-five finish.
The Championship leader, Tommy Bridewell, is back from his World Superbike wildcard at Cremona. The Honda Racing UK rider ended Free Practice One at Donnington Park in seventh.
Whitecliffe CDH Racing Kawasaki rider, Luke Hedger, finished inside the top ten in Free Practice One. Hedger ended the morning session in eighth place.
Andrew Irwin put his Honda Racing UK machine into the top ten in Free Practice One. Irwin ended the session in ninth place after completing 20 laps.
Rounding out the top ten was Peter Hickman on the FHO Racing BMW.
