Kyle Ryde takes victory in the opening race at Donington Park after holding off Championship rival, Tommy Bridewell.
Kyle Ryde has chopped the Championship lead at his home round as he wins the opening race of the weekend. The OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider had pressure on him from off the track and on the track. However, he fought hard for a crucial race win at Donington Park.
The Championship leader Tommy Bridewell finished in second place at Donington Park. The Honda Racing UK rider could not match Ryde's pace at the front after struggling this weekend.
Glenn Irwin finished in third place, the same position he is in the Championship standings. The Hager PBM Ducati rider could not match the front two but held onto a podium position.
Just off the podium was Andrew Irwin in fourth place on the Honda Racing UK machine. It appeared that Irwin could have taken third off his brother, but seemingly decided to think about the Championship.
Danny Kent had to settle for fifth place in the opening race of the weekend for the McAMS Yamaha Team. However, Kent was in second place on the opening lap but had to run on at Foggy Esses whilst fighting with Ryde.
The third Honda inside the top ten was the MasterMac Honda rider of Charlie Nesbitt. Nesbitt finished in sixth place after battling hard for a top-five position throughout the race.
In seventh place was Ryan Vickers on the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing. Vickers has seemed off the pace ever since he announced his move to World Superbikes in 2025.
The fourth, and final, Honda in the top five was Lee Jackson in eighth place on the MasterMac Honda. The only BMW rider inside the top ten was Josh Brookes on the FHO Racing BMW in ninth.
Completing the top ten was Christian Iddon who finished in tenth on the Oxford Products Racing Ducati.
