Leon Haslam's 2024 British Superbike Championship has so far been marred by technical difficulties, and that continued at Knockhill.
Improving the rideability of the BMW M1000 RR for Haslam was the main concern of the ROKiT Haslam Racing BMW team in the first races, with those rideability issues seemingly finally cured in Donington Park at round three.
Round four at the Knockhill BSB, however, saw another blow to Haslam's title hopes. He qualified only 14th, finished 10th in Race 1, and then retired from the second and third races. Race 2's retirement has been put down to "a small electrical issue", while a crash in Race 3 at turn four brought out the red flags.

Leon Haslam: “It was a bit of a weekend to forget really," Haslam concluded. "We had the big crash on Friday, and then we had an issue on Saturday and ended up tenth.
“In Race Two, we had another small problem and then in the final race I was running in a comfortable fifth when we had a few little issues and then another big high-side.
“It really wasn’t the best of weekends but the team worked hard and did a solid job. We battled through everything Knockhill decided to throw at us and now we just move on and concentrate on coming out fighting at Snetterton.”
