The first in-season test of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship is underway at the Circuito de Jerez.

One day after Alex Marquez claimed victory at the Spanish Grand Prix, the MotoGP riders are back on track for one day of testing.

The usual MotoGP riders will be out on track today, as well as HRC Test rider Takaaki Nakagami, KTM Test rider Dani Pedrosa, Yamaha Test rider Augusto Fernandez, and Aprilia Racing Test rider Lorenzo Savadori.

Spain MotoGP Test - Live Updates:

12:53 - After only two laps, Quartararo has shot to the top of the timesheets with a 1:36.489 lap time. The French rider is 0.700 seconds ahead of Vinales in second.

12:49 - Fabio Quartararo is now out on track, as well as Chantra and Rins. The French rider is only the fifth rider to head out on track during this session.

12:39 - Honda's Test Rider, Takaaki Nakagami, is the only rider on track in the early stages of the second session.

12:35 - Alex Rins is now the only rider on track; he currently sits in second place behind Vinales and ahead of Chantra.

12:30 - Somkiat Chantra has set his first lap time of the day and becomes the second rider to set a lap time in the second session.

12:20 - The second session of the day is back underway, and Maverick Vinales is the first rider back out on track.

12:00 - The chequered flag has been waved at the end of the first session.

11:45 - Maverick Vinales is inside the top seven after jumping up to sixth place.

11:35 - We are into the final 25 minutes of the morning session before the riders have a lunch break...

11:22 - Maverick Vinales has jumped up to 10th place on the timesheets as he set a 1:37.104.

11:15 - After wildcarding on the weekend, Aleix Espargaro is sitting out of the Jerez Test. Instead, Honda has entered Takaaki Nakagami, who is currently 21st on the timesheets.

11:10 - The Prima Pramac Racing duo of Miller and Fernandez are just outside of the top ten. Miller went 11th and Fernandez is in 12th.

11:01 - Just before the two-hour mark, Fabio di Giannantonio jumped up into the top five. The Italian went to fifth with a 1:36.788.

10:56 - Bagnaia continues to improve as he jumps up to 10th before diving back into the pit lane.

10:54 - With his 25th lap of the day, Bagnaia has moved up to 15th place on the timesheets with a 1:37.627.

10:50 - Aprilia has revealed what Bezzecchi and Savadori are working on during today's test. Bezzecchi will focus on aerodynamics and a new swingarm. Savadori has some new developments aimed at improving braking and stability.

10:43 - Marco Bezzecchi has entered the top five after going fourth. The Aprilia Racing rider set a 1:36.725 and is 0.125 seconds behind Zarco in third.

10:35 - Johann Zarco is up inside the top five after setting a new personal best lap time. The Frenchman has gone third with a 1:36.600, he is 0.416 seconds off of Marc Marquez's best lap time.

10:32 - After a crash in the opening hour, Pedro Acosta is back out on track and currently sits in ninth.

10:30 - After an hour and a half, the top five look like this: 1st. Marc Marquez, 2nd. Fabio Quartararo, 3rd. Alex Marquez, 4th. Brad Binder, 5th. Fermin Aldeguer.

10:25 - Marc Marquez is back on top of the timesheets. The eight-time World Champion set a 1:36.184 and went 0.222 seconds quicker than Quartararo.

10:16 - Franco Morbidelli will not participate in today's test. The Italian suffered a neck contusion during his crash yesterday. He only had a light plan today, but will focus on recovery instead.

10:15 - Quartararo has just set the best lap of the test. The Frenchman extended his advantage to 0.572 seconds after setting a 1:36.406.

10:08 - Alex Marquez has completed his first few laps of the day. The Spanish Grand Prix winner is up to second on the timesheets after setting a 1:36.978.

09:48 - The first hour of running is nearly complete, and we are yet to see Alex Marquez emerge from his garage. I wonder how big his party was last night?

09:40 - We have a change at the top as Fabio Quartararo went fastest with a 1:36.971. The new top five ius Quartararo, Binder, Marc Marquez, Bezzecchi and Marini.

09:28 - Marini has jumped into the top three in the early stages of today's test. The Italian is 0.259 seconds off of Marquez's lap time.

09:26 - We have now seen the likes of Luca Marini, Alex Rins, Augusto Fernandez, Ai Ogura, Lorenzo Savadori, Johann Zarco, Enea Bastianini, and Raul Fernandez begin their day of testing.

09:25 - Marc Marquez has now taken over at the top, the Spaniard set a 1:37.294 and went 0.114 seconds quicker than Binder.

09:20 - The top five after the first 20 minutes of the session are Binder, Miller, Acosta, Quartararo and Marc Marquez.

09:19 - After 19 minutes, Binder is back in the pits but is still at the top of the timesheets. We have since seen laps from the likes of Marc Marquez, Jack Miller and Fabio Quartararo.

09:10 - Binder continues to sit pretty at the top of the timesheets after five laps. The South African rider needs this one-day test after his difficult start to the 2025 season.

09:06 - The first flying laps are in, and it is Binder who goes to the top with a 1:38.431. He is joined by Bezzecchi and Bagnaia inside the top three.

09:05 - The track is starting to get busy now as Jack Miller, Brad Binder, Dani Pedrosa, Fabio Quartararo and Augusto Fernandez also head out for their first run of the day.

09:00 - The Green Flag is waved and the first three-hour session is underway... The first riders out of the pitlane are Francesco Bagnaia, Marco Bezzecchi and Maverick Vinales.
