After winning in Austria, David Alonso continues his form to Aragon as he tops the morning Free Practice session.
Two weeks after David Alonso mastered the Red Bull Ring in Austria the Moto3 class was back on track. Round 12 of the 2024 Moto3 season is back in Spain at a freshly resurfaced MotorLand Aragon.
After the opening Practice session, there were only three riders to reach a sub-two-minute lap time. David Alonso once again topped the opening session and led the way on Friday morning.
Jose Antonio Rueda had been on top of the session for the majority of the morning. However, after a late flurry of laps, he was pushed back from first to second place on the time sheets.
A surprise name in the top three was David Almansa in third place. The Spanish rider has not shown his true speed yet and a third place was a good start to the weekend for him.
Just outside the top three and the first rider with a two-minute lap time was Dani Holgado. The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider set his best lap with his very last lap in the session.
Once again Joel Kelso is back up the order. The young Australian always finds himself high on the time sheets on a Friday and he has started his weekend as he usually does.
Behind Kelso was another Australian, the rookie Jacob Roulstone. A brilliant start to Roulstone's weekend as he finds himself inside the top ten after one session.
The Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP riders ended the session in seventh and eighth places. Collin Veijer ended Free Practice in seventh with Tatsuki Suzuki in eighth.
Vincente Perez was the top MLAV Racing rider as he ended the session in ninth place. Just ahead of the Italian Matteo Bertelle in tenth place.
The only British rider in Moto3, Scott Ogden, ended his morning just outside the top ten in 11th.
