David Alonso once again leads the Moto3 field around MotorLand Aragon.
On Friday it was David Alonso who dominated the two Practice sessions at MotorLand Aragon. The Colombian rider broke the Moto3 lap record at the Spanish circuit in the afternoon Practice. However, overnight rain had fallen and the circuit was wet for the Saturday morning session.
Despite the wet conditions, it was once again Alonso who led the Moto3 field. The Moto3 Championship leader stayed out for the majority of the session and kept going faster every lap. In the end, the Colombian had a one-second lead over the field.
With his last flying lap, Xabi Zurutuza jumped up the order into second place on the Red Bull KTM Ajo machine. The Spanish rookie had gone missing in recent rounds, but he will now be hoping for a wet Qualifying session.
Behind Zurutuza was his teammate Jose Antonio Rueda. The Spaniard had been second throughout all of Friday but ended the Saturday morning session in third.
The Snipers Moto3 Team ended up finishing the Saturday morning session in fourth and fifth place. David Almansa has also been strong in the dry and wet as he ended Practice in fourth. Meanwhile, Matteo Bertelle ended Practice Two in fifth.
The LEVELUP - MTA rider of Stefano Nepa ended up finishing in sixth place. Just behind Nepa was the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider, Daniel Holgado in seventh.
Adrian Fernandez ended Practice Two in eighth place on his Leopard Honda machine. Behind Fernandez was the Australian rookie, Jacob Roulstone who has also been fast in the wet and dry.
Rounding out the top ten was Joel Esteban, another Moto3 rookie. The Spaniard ended up in 12th on Friday in the dry and tenth in the wet.
Scott Ogden has not had the easiest weekend as he ended Friday in 24th place and started his Saturday in 22nd.
