Moto3 Australia, Practice One Results: Piqueras sets the pace in mixed conditions

The Moto3 session had a damp track causing lap times to differ across the field on Friday afternoon.

Despite never coming to Phillip Island before it was Angel Piqueras in first on Friday. The Leopard Racing rider set the pace in the mixed conditions on Friday in the first timed Practice session.

One second behind Piqueras was David Alonso in second place on the CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team machine. The Colombian rider wrapped up the Moto3 Championship two weeks ago in Japan but is still looking for more race wins.

Adrian Fernandez put the second Leopard Racing Honda inside the top three as he finished third. However, the Spaniard was over two seconds slower than his teammate.

The Kopron Rivacold Snipers Team finished in fourth and fifth places at Phillip Island. David Almansa ended the day in fourth with Matteo Bertelle in fifth place.

BOE Motorsports rider, David Munoz, finished in sixth place in the tricky conditions on Friday afternoon.

Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP rider, Collin Veijer, ended the opening day in seventh place on the Husqvarna.

Stefano Nepa suffered a crash late on in the Moto3 session, but he still managed to finish in eighth place.

SIC59 Squarda Corse rider, Luca Lunetta, returned to the top te as he ended the day in ninth place.

One of the home heroes, Joel Kelso, completed the top ten. The Australian rider was three seconds behind Piqueras in the difficult conditions.

British riders Scott Ogden and Eddie O'Shea were outside of the top ten. Ogden finished in 15th with O'Shea in 25th.
