Ivan Ortola is aiming for his third win of the 2024 season after securing pole position at Mandalika.
After a difficult opening day for Ivan Ortola the Spanish rider turned his fortunes around on Saturday. The MT Helmets - MSi rider has not won a Moto3 race since Silverstone earlier this season. However, Ortola has put himself in a good spot to win on Sunday as he secured pole position.
Joining Ortola on the front row is Collin Veijer, who is also searching for his first win after a winless drought. The Dutch rider has not won since the Spanish Grand Prix and starts from second place on Sunday.
Taiyo Furusato has been chasing his maiden Grand Prix victory this season. The Japanese rider has stood on the podium twice in 2024 and could add to that amount from his third-place starting position.
At the head of the second row is the Leopard Honda of Adrian Fernandez. The Spaniard is yet to claim a podium in 2024, something that could change on Sunday.
The Championship leader had a disastrous Friday as he ended the day down in 13th place. However, the Colombian secured a great grid position as he qualified in fifth.
At the back of the second row is Moto3 rookie, Luca Lunetta. The Italian has been a revelation in the latter stages of 2024 and has shot his way up the Championship.
The third row is headed by the Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP rider of Tatsuki Suzuki. The Japanese rider has had a difficult 2024 season but has made his way back to the front at the start of the flyaways.
In eighth place is the Australian rider Joel Kelso on the BOE Motorsports machine. At the tail end of the third row is Angel Piqueras on the Leopard Honda.
Rounding out the top ten is Jose Antonio Rueda who will start from tenth on his Red Bull KTM Ajo bike.
British riders Scott Ogden and Eddie O'Shea had a positive qualifying session. Ogden will start from 12th place with Moto3 rookie, O'Shea, starting from 20th.
