Adrian Fernandez tops Friday Practice at Misano for the Leopard Racing Team.
Friday morning saw David Alonso top the opening Moto3 Free Practice session at Misano. However, come the afternoon when the times matter for getting into Qualifying Two the Colombian could not hold the top spot.
Honda ended Friday on top in Moto3 as Adrian Fernandez topped the last Practice session of the day. The Spanish rider has been overshadowed by his teammate throughout 2024 but has made a name for himself today.
In second place was the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider of Jose Antonio Rueda. The Spanish rider won at Aragon a week ago and has carried his momentum to Misano.
The Championship leader, Alonso, ended the opening day at Misano in third place. The Colombian is always there about in Moto3 as his final flying lap was disturbed by a yellow flag.
Two more Hondas complete the top five on Friday afternoon. Angel Piqueras finished in fourth on the Leopard Honda with Luca Lunetta in fifth on the SIC58 Squadra Corse bike.
Just outside the top ten was MT Helmets - MSi rider, Ivan Ortola. The Spaniard is Moto2 bound for 2025, but as it stands is fighting for a top-three finish in the Moto3 standings.
The fourth Honda in the top ten was Matteo Bertele in seventh place. The Italian rider had a good Friday at Aragon and repeated his same form at Misano.
Championship contenders Daniel Holgado and Collin Veijer were down in eighth and ninth places.
Completing the top ten was the second SIC58 Squadra Corse rider, Filippo Farioli, in tenth place.
Scott Ogden ended his Friday provisionally in the second Qualifying session. The British rider was in 14th place and for now is guaranteed a top 18 grid spot for Sunday.
