At the end of the opening session of the weekend, Alex Marquez was at the top of the timesheets on the Gresini Ducati.
Alex Marquez was on top at the end of the opening session of the Spanish Grand Prix. The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider was 0.3 seconds faster than the rest of the field in Free Practice One.
Marc Marquez was in second place behind his brother on the Ducati Lenovo Team machine. The older Marquez brother had a difficult start to the day but bounced back in the second half.
The top Yamaha rider was Fabio Quartararo on the Monster Energy Yamaha M1. The French rider was in third place at the end of the session as he was the closest competitor to the Marquez brothers.
Maverick Vinales was the top KTM rider on the Red Bull KTM Tech3 machine. The Spaniard was fourth on the timesheets and will be looking for a good result after his penalty in Qatar.
Joan Mir was the top Honda rider in the opening session of the weekend as he finished in fifth place for the Honda HRC Castrol squad.
The second Yamaha rider inside the top ten was Jack Miller on the Prima Pramac Racing machine. The Australian rider was in sixth place at the end of the session.
Francesco Bagnaia had a typical Free Practice One at the Circuito de Jerez. The Italian rider ended the session in seventh place and was 0.701 seconds behind Alex Marquez.
Honda got two riders inside the top ten as the LCR Honda Castrol rider of Johann Zarco ended the morning in eighth place.
Yamaha had three of their four riders in the top ten as Alex Rins put his Monster Energy Yamaha M1 into ninth place.
Completing the top ten was the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider of Franco Morbidelli on the Ducati GP24.
