Just like yesterday Danilo Petrucci ends Free Practice Three on top of the time sheets, with Kawasaki and BMW playing catch up.
Danilo Petrucci left Portimao yesterday as the fastest rider after the two Free Practice sessions. The Ducati rider dominated the evening session ahead of Alvaro Bautista and Toprak Razgatlioglu.
Just like yesterday, it was once again Petrucci on top. The Italian rider has now topped two Practice sessions this weekend and goes into Qualifying as the man to beat.
After an average start to the weekend yesterday Kawasaki and Alex Lowes made a massive improvement in FP3. The British rider found half a second in FP3 and found himself up in second place.
Bautista said yesterday that this is the first time this season he has arrived at a circuit and been strong. Well, the Spaniard continued his performance into Saturday. Bautista ended FP3 in third place and looks like he can challenge BMW this weekend.
This is the first session this weekend that has not ended with a mechanical issue for Razgatlioglu. The Turkish rider is eyeing up 12 straight WorldSBK race wins this weekend and a fourth place to start Saturday has put him in a good place.
Michael van der Mark continued his strong performance from yesterday as he was just behind Razgatlioglu on the time sheets as he finished FP3 in fifth.
It appears that Team HRC has found something this weekend. Iker Lecuona finished FP3 in sixth place, after finishing FP1 yesterday in the top ten. Xavi Vierge also put his Honda inside the top ten as he rounds out the top ten in tenth place.
Nicolo Bulega has struggled throughout this weekend. The Italian rider missed all of FP1 and then put in a quick lap time at the end of FP2 yesterday. However, today he ended FP3 in seventh.
Two British riders occupied eighth and ninth place. Jonathan Rea is back in the top ten again after making a step yesterday on his R1. Scott Redding also appears to have made a step as he finished FP3 in ninth.
Bradley Ray narrowly missed out on the top fifteen in FP3 as he finished in sixteenth place.
