MotoGP America, Practice Results | Marc Marquez ended Day One at COTA on top of the timesheets

It was Ducati that dominated in the drying conditions at the Circuit of the Americas on Friday afternoon.

Marc Marquez ended the opening day of Practice at the Circuit of the Americas on top of the timesheets. The Spaniard was 0.7 seconds quicker than second place as his advantage at the American circuit began to show.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team ended the day in second and third place. Fabio di Giannantonio put his Ducati GP25 in second place, and Franco Morbidelli put his Ducati GP24 in third place.

The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP Team were in fourth and fifth place. Alex Marquez was in fourth, and his rookie teammate, Fermin Aldeguer, was in fifth.

The first non-Ducati rider was the Prima Pramac Racing rider, Jack Miller. The Australian rider was the first to brave slick tyres on the drying track and ended the session in sixth.

KTM riders Pedro Acosta and Maverick Vinales were in seventh and eighth place at the end of the hour-long session.

The top Honda rider at the end of the opening day in America was the Honda HRC Castrol rider, Joan Mir.

Completing the top ten was two-time MotoGP World Champion Francesco Bagnaia, who just squeezed into Q2.
