Manuel Gonzalez was back to the top of the timesheets after a difficult Grand Prix of the Americas.

The fourth round of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship is underway at Qatar. Manuel Gonzalez set the pace in Free Practice One as he ended the opening session 0.278 seconds faster than the field.

Aron Canet was in second place on the Fantic Lino Sonego Kalex. The Spaniard may have been nearly 0.3 seconds behind his compatriot, but he was consistently fast throughout the session.

Deniz Oncu has had his best Free Practice One of the season as he started his weekend in third place on the Red Bull KTM Ajo machine.

The top Boscocsuro rider on Friday afternoon was the Moto2 World Championship leader, Jake Dixon, who ended the session in fourth place.

Albert Arenas completed the top five on the ITALJET Gresini Moto2 machine. The Spaniard has had another underwhelming start to his year and could do with a strong result this weekend.

Barry Baltus featured on the Moto2 podium in Qatar last season and will be looking to repeat that this year. The Belgian rider started his weekend in sixth place with the Fantic Racing Lino Sonego team.

IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia rider Mario Aji completed Free Practice One in seventh place.

Moto2 rookie Daniel Holgao ended Free Practice One with the CFMOTO Aspar Team in eighth place.

Filip Salac was the second Boscoscuro rider inside the top ten as he ended the session in ninth on the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team machine.

Completing the top ten was the reigning Moto3 World Champion, David Alonso on the CFMOTO Aspar Team Kalex.
