The start of the British Grand Prix saw Manuel Gonzalez dominate the opening session, with Jake Dixon in second place.
Manuel Gonzalez set a new Moto2 lap record at the Silverstone Circuit in the opening session of the weekend at the British Grand Prix.
Jake Dixon pleased the home fans as he ended Free Practice One at Silverstone in second place. However, he was 0.811 seconds behind Gonzalez's best lap time at the end of the session.
Aron Canet made sure that the top three in the Championship were all in the top three in the opening session. The Fantic Racing Lino Sonego rider started his weekend in third place, and was 0.051 seconds behind Dixon.
Senna Agius was able to set a similar pace to Dixon and Canet in Free Practice One. The Australian rider started his weekend in fourth place on the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP machine.
Filip Salac was the second Boscoscuro rider inside the top five in Free Practice One. The ELF Marc VDS Racing Team rider was in fifth place but was 0.941 seconds behind Gonzalez.
The KLINT Forward Factory Team ended the opening session inside the top ten, as Jorge Navarro ended the session in sixth place.
Colombian rider, David Alonso, started his weekend in seventh place on the CFMoto Gaviota Aspar Team machine.
Diogo Moreira is still chasing his first podium of the season after finishing fourth in the last three races. The Brazilian rider was eighth in Free Practice One at the Silverstone Circuit.
Deniz Oncu missed out on points last time at the French Grand Prix, but the Turkish rider was back in the top ten as he finished ninth in Free Practice One.
Albert Arenas jumped into the top ten in the latter moments of the session as he finished in tenth but was 1.402 seconds behind Gonzalez.
