Aragon Moto2, Friday Practice Results: Manuel Gonzalez back to top, Jake Dixon P7

Manuel Gonzalez returned to the top of the timesheets in Friday Practice for the Aragon Moto2, Round 8 of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship.

The championship leader arrives at his home event nursing a meagre three-point lead over Aron Canet after surrendering a fistful of points by crashing last time out at Silverstone.

On familiar territory though Gonzalez was the rider to beat on Friday around Motorland Aragon, the Dynavolt IntactGP rider a comfortable two tenths quicker than Diogo Moreira on the Italtrans machine.

Fastest in FP1, Deniz Öncü maintained his strong form come the Q2-deciding Friday Practice session with the third quickest time around the circuit he achieved his maiden Moto2 podium last season.

Joe Roberts was a strong fourth quickest, ahead of Barry Baltus, who will look to get back to his podium-winning form on the Fantic Racing machine this weekend.

Zonta van den Goorbergh popped up to sixth late on aboard the RW Racing GP machine, ahead of title contender Jake Dixon, who led Marc VDS Racing's challenge in seventh place.

British Moto2 winner Senna Agius booked his place in Q2 with his run to eighth, as did top rookie Daniel Holgado in ninth and Marcos Ramirez in tenth.

Gonzalez's closest title rival Canet could only manage 11th but will get a shot at pole, as will Albert Arenas in 12th.

Fresh from his maiden podium at Silverstone, David Alonso sneaked through into Q2 despite losing track time with a heavy crash towards the end of the session.
