Moto2 World Championship leader, Manuel Gonzalez, ended the opening day at the Red Bull Ring at the top of the timesheets.
After not featuring in the top five on Friday morning, Manuel Gonzalez made his way back to the top of the timesheets on Friday afternoon in Practice.
Gonzalez's main rival for the Moto2 World Championship, Aron Canet, ended the day in second place for the Fantic Racing Lino Sonego squad.
Moto2 rookie, Ivan Ortola, had an impressive afternoon session as he ended up as the top Boscoscuro rider as he ended the session in third place.
Celestino Vietti made his way up the order from seventh on Friday morning to fourth place in the Friday afternoon Practice session.
Despite topping the morning session, Filip Salac dropped back to fifth place in the afternoon for the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team.
Diogo Moreira did not feature inside the top ten in the morning, but barely missed out on the top five in the afternoon as he finished in sixth.
A disappointing morning for Marcos Ramirez saw him end Free Practice One in 18th, but he ended the day in seventh after a solid Practice session.
Despite a crash towards the end of the session, Tony Arbolino secured himself a spot in Q2 as he ended up in eighth place.
Daniel Holgado was able to complete a solid opening day at the Red Bull Ring. The Moto2 rookie started the day in tenth and ended the day in ninth.
Completing the top ten was the ITALJET Gresini Moto2 rider of Albert Arenas.
However, British rider Jake Dixon did not have an ideal Friday as he ended the day in 21st place for the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team.
