MotoGP San Marino, Free Practice One Results | Franco Morbidelli topped the timesheets at Misano

Franco Morbidelli topped the MotoGP timesheets for the VR46 Racing Team at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Despite a crash in the latter moments of Free Practice One, Franco Morbidelli held onto the lead in the opening MotoGP session for the Pertamina Endurp VR46 Racing Team.

With his final lap of the morning, Fabio Quartararo managed to jump up the order into second place on the Monster Energy Yamaha.

Fabio di Giannantonio looked set to complete a VR46 1-2 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, but he dropped back to third place at the end of the session.

Alex Marquez started off the San Marino Grand Prix in a positive way for the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP squad as he finished in fourth place.

Rounding out the top five was the Ducati Lenovo Team rider, Marc Marquez. The MotoGP Championship leader was 0.269 seconds behind Morbidelli at the end of the session.

Narrowly missing out on a top-five position in Free Practice One was the Honda HRC Castrol rider, Luca Marini, who was 0.002 seconds behind Marc Marquez.

Pedro Acosta was the only KTM rider to feature inside the top ten on Friday morning as he ended up in seventh place on the RC16.

Marco Bezzecchi was the fastest Aprilia rider in Free Practice One as he finished in eighth place on the factory RS-GP.

Trackhouse Racing featured inside the top ten as Spaniard Raul Fernandez ended the morning session in ninth place.

Completing the top ten was the reigning MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Martin, on the factory Aprilia RS-GP>
