Moto2 Japan, Qualifying Results | Manuel Gonzalez claimed his seventh pole position of the season

With a new Moto2 Lap Record at the Twin Ring Motegi, Manuel Gonzalez was able to secure his seventh pole of the season.

For the first time since the Austrian Grand Prix, the Moto2 World Championship leader, Manuel Gonzalez, will start from pole position after setting a Moto2 Lap Record at the Twin Ring Motegi.

Daniel Holgado has started the last two Moto2 races from pole, but in Japan, he was unable to match Gonzalez and will start from second place on the grid.

The front row of the grid was completed by the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider, David Alonso, who will start from third place.

Celestino Vietti was the top Boscoscuro rider in the Moto2 Qualifying session as the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team qualified in fourth place.

MotoGP-bound, Diogo Moreira will start the Japanese Grand Prix from the middle of the second row of the grid in fifth place.

British rider Jake Dixon will start the Japanese Grand Prix from sixth place on the grid despite topping the Practice sessions on Friday.

Barry Baltus will head the third row of the grid as he will start from seventh place on the grid for the Fantic Racing Lino Sonego squad.

Japanese rider Ayumu Sasaki will start his home Grand Prix from eighth place on the grid for the RW - Idrofoglia Racing squad.

Moto2 rookie, Collin Veijer, will start from the rear of the third row of the grid in ninth place for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad.

Completing the top ten on the grid was the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 rider, Izan Guevara.
