Marco Bezzecchi dominated the timesheets on Friday at Mandalika, as the factory Ducati squad struggled.
At the end of the opening day, Marco Bezzecchi dominated the timesheets as he topped the Friday afternoon Practice session by 0.408 seconds for the Aprilia Racing squad.
The top Ducati at the end of the opening day was the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider, Fermin Aldeguer. Despite his crash in Free Practice One, the MotoGP rookie ended Friday as the top Ducati rider.
Pedro Acosta was the only KTM rider to secure a Q2 spot on Friday afternoon. The Spaniard ended the day in third place for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing squad.
The top Honda was the Honda HRC Castrol rider, Luca Marini. The Italian ended the day in fourth and made it four different manufacturers inside the top four.
Trackhouse Racing rider, Raul Fernandez, was inside the top five on Friday afternoon at the Indonesian Grand Prix as he rounded out the top five.
Just outside of the top five was the Honda HRC Castrol rider, Joan Mir. The Spaniard was in sixth place and missed out on the top five by 0.035 seconds.
The Monster Energy Yamaha squad managed to get both riders into Q2 at the end of Friday afternoon's Practice. Fabio Quartararo found himself in seventh, and Alex Rins was in eighth place.
Prima Pramac Racing had one rider in the automatic Q2 places on Friday afternoon, as Miguel Oliveira was in ninth place at the end of the day.
Completing the top ten was the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider, Alex Marquez. The Spaniard secured a Q2 spot despite a crash at the latter end of the session.
Neither of the factory Ducati riders was able to end the day inside the top ten; Marc Marquez was in 11th place and Francesco Bagnaia was in 17th.
