Francesco Bagnaia returned to winning ways as he dominated the Sprint Race at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.
The confusion continues surrounding Francesco Bagnaia as he went from Q1 to pole position in Qualifying, and then backed it up with a Sprint Race victory on Friday afternoon at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.
Alex Marquez was able to secure second place in the 2025 MotoGP Championship with a second-place finish for the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP squad in the Sprint Race at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
For the majority of the Sprint Race, Pedro Acosta was holding onto a podium finish. Despite crossing the line in fourth, Acosta was a podium finisher after Aldeguer was handed a tyre pressure penalty.
The third Ducati rider inside the top five on Saturday at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit was the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider, Franco Morbidelli, who finished in fourth place.
Fabio Quartararo was once again the top Yamaha rider, as the Monster Energy Yamaha rider ended the Sprint Race in the points with a fifth-place finish.
Despite qualifying outside of the front four rows, Marco Bezzecchi fought his way into the points in the Sprint Race and ended up in sixth place as the top Aprilia rider.
Fermin Aldeguer crossed the line in third place and secured the Rookie of the Year title for the 2025 season. However, he did receive a tyre pressure penalty and was given an eight-second penalty, which dropped him to seventh place.
The top Honda rider on Saturday afternoon was the LCR Honda Castrol rider, Johann Zarco. The Frenchman finished in eighth place after both Honda HRC Castrol riders crashed out in front of him.
Taking the final point on Saturday afternoon was the Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider, Enea Bastianini.
