Completing the podium positions was the pole sitter, Marco Bezzecchi. The Italian rider was not able to match the Ducati and KTM, but took a comfortable podium position.

After qualifying on the front row, Fabio Quartararo would have been hopeful of a podium, but the Frenchman was unable to stick with the front three.

Fabio di Giannantonio rounded out the top five as the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider was battling with Quartararo in the latter laps of the race.

Fermin Aldeguer had a poor qualifying session around the Portimao circuit, but the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider recovered to sixth place in the Sprint Race.

Across the line, Johann Zarco was able to pass Francesco Bagnaia and took seventh place for the LCR Honda Castrol squad.

Francesco Bagnaia's Sprint Race woes returned in the Sprint Race at the Portuguese Grand Prix as he finished in eighth place for the factory Ducati squad.

The final points scoring position went to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider, Brad Binder, who crossed the line in ninth place.
