Charlie Nesbitt leads the opening British Superbike Free Practice session at Oulton Park for the opening Showdown round.
With the British Superbike (BSB) Showdown coming to a start the Championship arrives at Oulton Park for the second time this season.
Last time out Charlie Nesbitt stood on the podium for the first time this season. The MasterMac Honda rider has carried his form from Cadwell Park to Oulton Park as he topped the opening Practice session.
Ryan Vickers is looking to get his Championship challenge back on form after a tough time at Cadwell Park. The OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider is back at the sharp end at Oulton Park as he finished Free Practice One in second place.
Completing the top three in the opening BSB session was Leon Haslam. The veteran rider is still in the title hunt but needs a perfect Showdown to claim his second BSB title.
The second MasterMac Honda rider Lee Jackson also made the top five with his teammate. Jackson claimed three podiums at his home round of Cadwell Park.
In fifth and sixth were Josh Brookes and Danny Buchan. The FHO Racing and DAO Racing riders had decent rounds at Cadwell Park and have carried their momentum to Cadwell Park.
Championship challengers Kyle Ryde and Glenn Irwin ended the opening session in seventh and eighth. Ryde and Irwin are currently in second and third in the standings and are chasing their first BSB title.
Danny Kent had a disaster at Cadwell Park due to his lack of experience. However, Kent is back in the top ten as he finished in ninth in Free Practice One.
Rounding out the top ten was Tommy Bridewell. The reigning Champion and the current Championship leader has a 19-point lead in the standings and also announced he will wildcard at Cremona in World Superbikes later this month.
