Ryan Vickers and Yamaha have had a strong start to the weekend as they dominate the time sheets at Thruxton in Free Practice One.
The British Superbike Championship rolls up to Thruxton this weekend for a fast and wild weekend at such a unique circuit.
The weekend has started well for Yamaha with Ryan Vickers taking top spot for the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing squad. After winning all three races at Brands Hatch Vickers is on a strong run of form.
Danny Kent continued the Yamaha train as he ended FP1 in second place on the McAMS Racing Yamaha. Just behind Kent was Kyle Ryde completing a Yamaha 1-2-3, 0.309 seconds separate all three Yamaha riders.
The first non-Yamaha rider is the former Yamaha rider, Jason O'Halloran. The Australian has historically been strong around Thruxton and seems as strong on a Kawasaki.
The top BMW rider is the former BSB Champion, Leon Haslam. The BSB veteran finds himself inside the top five after the first Practice session of the weekend.
The Championship leader, Tommy Bridewell, finds himself in sixth place in Free Practice One. The home rider does not tend to get on with Thruxton, but his switch to Honda might be a better fit for the circuit.
Billy McConnell has started his weekend well with a seventh-place finish in Free Practice One. The Australian is only 0.099 seconds behind Bridewell.
The top Pathway bike is Lewis Rollo in eighth place. The Scotsman has had an impressive start to the weekend on his Aprilia.
Peter Hickman has had a tough season so far in British Superbikes, the veteran rider has had a promising start to the weekend today though.
The top Ducati is Christian Iddon on the Oxford Products Racing bike. Ducati has historically struggled at Thruxton, but Iddon is on a mission to challenge for the 2024 BSB Championship.
