BSB Thruxton, Qualifying Results | Ryde secures pole position at Thruxton, two fast-charging Australians complete the front row

Kyle Ryde will start the first British Superbike race of the weekend from pole position. Meanwhile, the two Ducati riders find themselves further down the grid.

Danny Kent set the pace on Friday at Thruxton as the Yamaha rider put in the fastest lap time. Kent went on to top Free Practice Three, just before Qualifying, but was not able to snatch pole position.

It may not have been Kent, but fellow Yamaha rider Kyle Ryde grabbed pole position. Last round his team-mate rightly stole the headlines, but Ryde will be looking to write some of his own.

Last year Jason O'Halloran won all three races at Thruxton whilst on a Yamaha. However, now he is on a Kawasaki he clearly has not lost any pace of his own. The Australian qualified in second place for Race One later today.

Billy McConnell completed an Australian 2-3, he was also the top Honda rider in Qualifying. McConnell has looked strong all weekend and knows how to get the most out of one lap around Thruxton.

After winning all three races at Brands Hatch it has not been an easy weekend for Ryan Vickers. The Yamaha rider had to go through the first Qualifying session, but once he got into Q2 he showed his pace and qualified in fourth.

Kent could not match his fellow Yamaha rider's pace but set a decent lap time and will start from fifth place. Leon Haslam completed the second row as he qualified in sixth place. The BSB veteran is also the top BMW rider after Qualifying.

Other than McConnell the next Honda riders are down in seventh, eighth and ninth places. Lee Jackson put his MasterMac Honda into seventh place, with the two Honda Racing UK riders Tommy Bridewell and Andrew Irwin in eighth and ninth places.

Rounding out the top ten was the young Kawasaki rider of Max Cook. After missing out on a podium at Thruxton last year Cook will be looking to get on the rostrum this weekend.

The championship-challenging Ducati riders, Glenn Irwin and Christian Iddon were both in Q2, but neither impacted the top riders. Irwin will start from 14th with Iddon just behind in 15th place.
