Jake Dixon set the pace on Friday morning in a wet Free Practice One session at the Circuit of the Americas.
After dominating the Argentine Grand Prix, Jake Dixon has carried his form to the Circuit of the Americas. The British rider ended the first session in America on the top of the timesheets and had a 1.2-second advantage.
American rider Joe Roberts ended the first session at his home Grand Prix in second place. The OnlyFans American Racing Team rider has been struggling with an injury but looked back to his best at home.
Deniz Oncu had spent the majority of the session in second place but dropped to third at the end. The Turkish rider and the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad had a positive start to his weekend.
The Team HDR Heidrun riders ended the morning in fourth and fifth place at COTA. Celestino Vietti ended the session in fourth, and Alonso Lopez was in fifth at the end of the opening Practice session.
Tony Arbolino had a positive start to his weekend in America as he ended the session in sixth place.
The Fantic Racing Lino Sonego riders of Aron Canety and Barry Baltus ended Free Practice One in seventh and eighth. Canet was in seventh with his Belgian teammate in eighth.
After a positive result in Argentina, KLINT Forward Factory Team rider Alex Escrig ended Free Practice One in ninth in America.
Completuing the top ten was Moto2 rookie, Ivan Ortola on the QJMOTOR - Frinsa - MSi Boscoscuro machine.
