Moto2 Thailand, Friday Practice Results: Diogo Moreira leads the way, Jake Dixon ends his day in seventh

Moto2 title contender, Diogo Moreira, ended the opening day of the 2025 season on top of the timesheets.

The first Friday Practice sessions of the 2025 Moto2 season have been completed and the Q2 places have been confirmed.

The top 14 places at the end of Friday afternoon Practice will automatically qualify for Q2 on Saturday.

Diogo Moreira claimed top spot on the opening day of the Moto2 Practice in Thailand. The Brazilian rider is a title contender this season and has started his year in the perfect way.

Manuel Gonzalez ended his day in second and has been labelled as a title favourite for this year. However, the Spaniard did crash at the end of the day, but walked away from the incident.

Turkish rider, Deniz Oncu, is into his second year in the Moto2 World Championship. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider ended his day in third place and will be in podium contention this weekend.

Mario Suryo Aji had a difficult 2024 season but is in the top five at the end of Day One in 2025. The Indonesian rider was 0.229 seconds behind Moreira's best lap time.

The top non-Kalex rider on Day One was Jorge Navarro on the KLINT Forward Factory Team. The Spaniard was in fifth place and put the Forward chassis in the mix on Friday.

The OnlyFans American Racing Team rider of Marcos Ramirez missed out on the top five. The Spaniard ended his day in sixth and was 0.338 seconds behind Moreira.

The top Boscoscuro rider on Friday was Jake Dixon and the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team. The British rider ended his first day with his new team in seventh place.

Former Moto3 World Champion, Albert Arenas, is continuing with the ITALJET Gresini Moto2 outfit. The Spaniard was in eighth place at the end of the first day in Thailand.

Australian rider, Senna Agius, ended his Friday in ninth place on his Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP machine.

Rounding out the top ten on Friday was Alonso Lopez on the SpeedUp Racing machine. The Spaniard was 0.394 seconds behind Moreira's best time.
