Marc Marquez starts his weekend off on the front foot as he tops the opening MotoGP Free Practice session.
Francesco Bagnaia dominated the weekend last time in Austria. The reigning World Champion regained the Championship lead as he won the Sprint and main Grand Prix Race at the Red Bull Ring.
At his home circuit, Marc Marquez set the pace on Friday morning. The Spaniard has dominated Aragon in the past and ends Free Practice One in first place.
Half a second behind Marquez was Jorge Martin. The Pramac Ducati rider was the top Ducati GP24 rider and ended the session in second.
Pedro Acosta was back at the sharp end after a dreadful weekend in Austria. The Spanish rider ended Friday morning in third place sixth tenths behind Marquez.
Just behind Acosta was his fellow KTM rider Brad Binder in fourth place. The South African rider was five hundredths behind Acosta.
The third Ducati inside the top three was Fabio Di Giannantonio in fifth place. With his fellow Ducati GP23 rider Alex Marquez alongside him in sixth place.
The top Aprilia rider from Friday morning was Miguel Oliveira in seventh place. The Portuguese rider was five places higher than the next Aprilia rider in 12th.
The third KTM rider in the top ten was Jack Miller in eighth place. The Australian rider felt good at Austria but ended up crashing out of the race. However, Miller has started his weekend well in Spain.
Rounding out the top ten were two more Ducati GP24 riders with Enea Bastianini in ninth and Franco Morbidelli in tenth.
Francesco Bagnaia had a terrible opening session as he started the day nearly two seconds slower than Marquez. The Italian ended the morning in 21st place.
