Marc Marquez is a race winner once again as he wins his first-ever MotoGP Sprint Race.
Throughout the weekend the clear favourite for the Sprint Race and the main Grand Prix was Marc Marquez. The Spaniard had topped every Practice session and Qualifying and was set for his first-ever Sprint Race win.
For the first time in his MotoGP career Marc Marquez claimed victory in a MotoGP Sprint Race! However, this race will not go down in the records as a race win but rather as a Sprint win. But the old Marquez was back for the 11-lap race around MotorLand Aragon.
Jorge Martin was Marquez's closest rival, and he was nearly three seconds behind Marquez when he crossed the line. The Spaniard will have learnt a lot behind Marquez, but he did not have the pace to match him.
Pedro Acosta returned to the Sprint podium at Aragon, the Spaniard completed a Spanish 1-2-3. After some difficult weekends for Acosta, he was back to his best.
Fourth place is Alex Marquez's best Sprint Race result in 2024. The Spaniard did not have the pace to go with the podium runners but a fourth is a good place to build on for Sunday's Grand Prix.
The first non-Spanish rider around Aragon was Miguel Oliveira in fifth. The Portuguese rider is without a ride for 2025, but he was the top Aprilia in the Sprint.
The second KTM inside the points was Brad Binder as he finished in sixth place. Right behind Binder in seventh was Enea Bastianini who came through from 14th on the grid.
Fabio Quartararo has had great race pace all weekend and he showed it in the Sprint Race. The French rider finished in eighth place.
Rounding out the points was the reigning MotoGP World Champion, Francesco Bagnaia. This was the worst Bagnaia has looked all weekend as he looked nothing like he did at the Red Bull Ring two weeks ago.
