Francesco Bagnaia takes Sprint Race Victory at Mandalika as Martin scores no points on Saturday.
After one of his worst weekends of the year, Francesco Bagnaia delivered once again when it came to race time. The Italian rider shot up to second place at the first corner and was instantly on the back of his Championship rival. However, Jorge Martin crashed from the lead gifting Bagnaia first place and the Sprint Race win.
In second place was the hard-charging Ducati of Enea Bastianini. The Italian may be on his way to Tech3 in 2025 but is still determined to challenge in 2024. Bastianini took second place behind his current teammate on Saturday.
Completing a full Ducati podium was Marc Marquez in third place on the Gresini Racing Ducati. The Spanish rider did not have the pace to match Bagnaia but after starting from 12th a third-place finish is a vital result.
The VR46 Academy riders of Marco Bezzecchi and Franco Morbidelli rounded out an all-Ducati top five. Bezzecchi took the VR46 Ducati to fourth place with the Pramac Ducati of Morbidelli in fifth.
The first non-Ducati rider was the KTM of Pedro Acosta in sixth place. The Spaniard started from the front row but could not match the Ducati's on Saturday. The top Aprilia was Maverick Vinales, he crossed the line in seventh place on his RS-GP.
Johann Zarco claimed a top-ten finish on his LCR Honda Castrol. The French rider has been back at the sharp end at Mandalika on his Honda and has scored points on Saturday.
The final point was scored by the VR46 Racing Team rider of Fabio Di Giannantonio. The Italian was just ahead of the Championship leader, Jorge Martin, who finished outside of the points in tenth.
