Jorge Martin takes Sprint victory in Malaysia whilst his Championship rival ended up watching from the sidelines.
After starting from second on the grid Jorge Martin was unstoppable in the Sprint Race. The Prima Pramac Racing rider now has further control of the 2024 Championship as he extended his Championship lead.
Marc Marquez claimed another Sprint Race podium as he finished in second place in Malaysia. The Spaniard was ahead of his main rival as he continued to fight for third place in the Championship.
Two seconds behind Martin was Enea Bastianini on the Ducati Lenovo machine. The Italian rider finished in third place and completed the Sprint Race podium in Malaysia.
Completing a Ducati top-four lockout was Alex Marquez on the Gresini Racing Ducati. The two-time World Champion has had a strong weekend after qualifying on the front row earlier in the day.
The top non-Ducati rider on Saturday was the Monster Energy Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo. The French rider and Yamaha have been a revelation in Malaysia as their M1s are working well around Sepang.
Franco Morbidelli picked up some strong points in the Sprint Race as he finished in sixth place on his Prima Pramac Racing Ducati.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders finished in seventh and eighth places. Brad Binder crossed the line in seventh with Jack Miller in eighth.
GasGas Factory Racing Tech3 rider, Pedro Acosta, took the final points-scoring position in Malaysia as he finished in ninth.
The reigning World Champion, Francesco Bagnaia, did not finish the Malaysian Sprint Race. The Italian rider crashed out of the race whilst chasing Martin in the middle of the race.
