The domination continues at Phillip Island as a Ducati claims the first pole position of the 2025 World Superbike season.
It was never in doubt for Nicolo Bulega as for the second year in a row he has claimed pole position at Phillip Island. He was not as fast as in 2024 but he still remains the favourite for the opening race of the 2025 season.
After a difficult Friday at Phillip Island, Toprak Razgatlioglu has qualified on the front row of the grid. The reigning World Champion used Bulega for a tow and managed to put his BMW into second.
Completing the front row of the grid was Andrea Iannone who qualified in third place on the Team Pata GoEleven Ducati.
The second row of the grid is full of Ducati's with Alvaro Bautista leading them in fourth place. The Spaniard could challenge for a podium in Race One but does not look to be in the hunt for victory.
Danilo Petrucci has put his Barni Spark Racing Team machine in fifth place and will start from the middle of the second row.
The top British rider in the first World Superbike Superpole session of the year was Scott Redding. The 'comeback kid' will start from sixth place for his debut on the MGM Bonovo Racing Ducati.
At the front of the third row is Michael van der Mark on the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team machine. The Dutch rider will start from seventh place on the grid, but is 0.9 seconds slower than Bulega.
Yamaha features in eighth and ninth places on the grid at Phillip Island. Andrea Locatelli qualified in eighth place with Remy Gardner starting his home race from ninth on the grid.
Completing the top ten is Alex Lowes on the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team KB998 Rimini machine.
The final three British riders did not feature in the top ten but Sam Lowes will start from 11th, Ryan Vickers has qualified in 16th for his rookie weekend, and Tarran Mackenzie is 21st on the grid.
