MotoGP Spain, Free Practice Two Results | Marc Marquez takes over at the top

Marc Marquez claimed top spot for the first time this weekend ahead of Qualifying.

On Friday, the main talking point was Alex Marquez as he topped both sessions. However, on Saturday morning, it was Marc Marquez who stole the headlines as he topped Free Practice Two.

KTM found themselves inside the top three as Maverick Vinales ended the final Practice session in second. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider was 0.210 seconds behind Marquez on the timesheets.

The top Yamaha rider on Saturday morning was the Monster Energy Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo. The 2021 MotoGP World Champion has been in the top ten all weekend and looks strong.

Francesco Bagnaia ended his morning with a crash in Free Practice Two. However, the Italian rider ended the session in fourth place as the second-highest Ducati rider.

Jack Miller was the second Yamaha rider in the top five, as the Australian rider and the Prima Pramac Racing squad ended the morning in fifth.

Ducati found themselves in sixth and seventh place with Alex Marquez and Fabio di Giannantonio finding themselves in the top ten.

Aprilia did not get a rider straight through to Q2 on Friday afternoon, but Marco Bezzecchi was on the pace on Saturday morning. The Italian ended Free Practice Two in eighth place on the RS-GP.

Franco Morbidelli suffered a huge crash at the start of the session. However, he got back on track and ended the session in ninth place.

Completing the top ten was the Honda HRC Castrol rider, Luca Marini. The Italian rider was the top Honda rider at the end of the session.
