Francesco Bagnaia entered the 2024 MotoGP World Championship as a back-to-back MotoGP Champion. The Italian seemed to be destined for a 'three-peat' as he hunted for his fourth World Championship. However, it did not happen, Bagnaia bottled his best chances.

Despite being in the factory Ducati team with the best bike and best engineers he was beaten by a satellite team and rider. However, his performances throughout the season were also undeniably historic.

Bagnaia had an incredible 2024 MotoGP season in terms of race wins and podiums. The Italian won 18 races across Grands Prix and Sprint Races, individually he won 11 Grands Prix and seven Sprints. He also featured on eight other podiums throughout the year.

However, the part that let Bagnaia down in 2024 was his consistency. The two-time MotoGP Champion continued to make silly mistakes during the season and lost crucial points. Bagnaia crashed out of seven races throughout the year, usually from inside the top three.

In 2025 Bagnaia will have a point to prove and will want to regain his #1 plate now that the 2024 Champion has changed manufacturers. However, his toughest opponent will be his new teammate, Marc Marquez.
